En junio de 2023, el Cl\u00faster Mar\u00edtim de les Illes Balears fue designado por el Govern para liderar la creaci\u00f3n de una estrategia de econom\u00eda azul para las islas. El objetivo es avanzar hacia una econom\u00eda m\u00e1s diversificada y sostenible, basada en la innovaci\u00f3n y el fortalecimiento del tejido productivo balear. Aprovechando el liderazgo del sector tur\u00edstico, se busca impulsar sectores estrat\u00e9gicos con un alto potencial de crecimiento mediante una especializaci\u00f3n inteligente.
